Final Findings ("the app") is an educational game about forensic-pathology reasoning, published by Clear Margin Studios ("we," "us"). This policy covers both the app and our website at clearmarginstudios.com, and explains what each does and does not collect.

1Information we collect

The app collects nothing. It does not ask for, gather, or transmit your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, health information, device identifiers, or advertising identifiers. It makes no network requests to us.

We do not use analytics or crash-reporting services. We do not use advertising SDKs. We do not use Apple's Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and we do not track you across apps or websites.

The one exception is the bug-report form, described in Section 3. It is opened only when you choose to tap "Report a Bug/Issue," it runs in your web browser rather than inside the app, and the only personal information it can receive is an email address you decide to type in. It is optional.

2Information stored on your device

The app saves a small amount of data locally so it can remember your progress between sessions:

• Cases completed, star ratings, best scores, and efficiency grades
• Game mode (Game or Educational) and difficulty preference
• Accessibility settings, such as the colourblind-safe colour toggle
• Whether you have acknowledged the in-app disclaimer

This is stored using the operating system's standard local app-storage mechanism. It never leaves your device, is not backed up to any server we control, and we cannot see it. Clearing it is entirely under your control — use Options → Clear Saved Data in the app, or delete the app.

3Reporting a bug

The app includes an optional "Report a Bug/Issue" button. Tapping it opens a Google Form in your device's web browser, outside the app.

• This is voluntary. If you never tap it, nothing is ever sent.
• To help us reproduce problems, the link is pre-filled with the app version and the screen or case you were on when you tapped it. Neither identifies you.
• Anything else in the report is whatever you choose to type.
• The form includes an optional field for your email address, for people who would like to be contacted about follow-up. Leaving it blank does not affect your report. If you do provide it, we use it only to reply to you about that report. We do not add it to a mailing list, use it for marketing, or share it with anyone.

Because the form is operated by Google, information you submit through it is handled under Google's Privacy Policy. We use bug reports only to find and fix problems in the app.

4The website and the alpha signup form

Our website, clearmarginstudios.com, is a plain static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and does not track you. It loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers; that request carries your IP address and is handled under Google's Privacy Policy.

The site has one optional signup form, used to request access to the closed alpha. If you choose to use it:

• The only thing it asks for, and the only thing we store, is your email address.
• Submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, who host the website, under our account. Their handling is governed by Netlify's Privacy Policy. Netlify also records the submission time and the IP address it came from, as a standard anti-spam measure.
• We use your address only to send you alpha build access and to ask what you thought of it. We do not sell it, share it, add it to a marketing list, or use it to advertise.
• You can ask us to delete it at any time — see Section 12 — and we will.
• We keep signup addresses for the duration of the alpha programme, and delete them when it ends unless you have asked to stay on the list for launch.

Browsing the site without submitting the form leaves us with nothing about you. Netlify keeps standard server access logs for the site, as any web host does.

5The iPhone and iPad beta (TestFlight)

The iOS version of the app is distributed through Apple's TestFlight. This is worth calling out because a TestFlight build behaves differently from a released app:

• Joining the beta requires an Apple Account and the free TestFlight app. That relationship is between you and Apple, under Apple's Privacy Policy. If you join through our public link rather than an emailed invitation, we do not receive your email address from Apple.
• TestFlight automatically sends us crash logs, and — if you opt in when TestFlight asks — basic usage data such as how long sessions ran. This is Apple's feature, not ours; we cannot switch it off, and it applies only to beta builds. We use it solely to find and fix defects.
• Any feedback or screenshot you choose to submit through TestFlight comes to us, along with your device model and OS version.
• None of this applies to the app once it is publicly released. As stated in Section 1, the shipping app contains no analytics or crash-reporting code of our own.

Android testers who receive a build directly from us are not covered by any of the above; a sideloaded build reports nothing to us.

6Case content

The clinical cases in the app are fictional composites written to illustrate general pathologic principles. They do not depict any real person, living or dead, and contain no patient or decedent records. Case content ships inside the app; it is not downloaded, streamed, or synced.

7Children's privacy

Final Findings is intended for adult learners and professionals. It depicts autopsy findings and post-mortem examination in clinical detail and is rated accordingly on the app store. It is not directed to children, and because we collect no personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8Sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or information resellers.

The only email addresses we ever hold are the ones you choose to give us — in a bug report (Section 3) or through the website signup form (Section 4). Each is used only for the purpose it was given, and neither is disclosed to any third party, except that bug reports are hosted on Google Forms and signup submissions are stored by Netlify, both as our data processors and both described above.

9Retention and your rights

We keep bug reports only as long as they are useful for fixing the issue they describe, and delete email addresses attached to them once the matter is resolved. Website signup addresses are kept for the duration of the alpha programme and deleted when it ends, unless you have asked to stay on the list for launch.

Privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA/CPRA (California) give you rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of its sale. If you have given us an email address — in a bug report or through the signup form — you may ask us to delete it at any time using the contact address in Section 12, and we will. If you have never done either, we hold no personal information about you at all.

The locally-stored progress described in Section 2 never reaches us, is fully under your control, and can be erased at any time from Options → Clear Saved Data or by deleting the app.

10Data security

The app transmits no personal data, so there is nothing of yours in transit to intercept. Locally-stored progress is protected by your device's own security (passcode, biometrics, and OS-level app sandboxing). Bug reports, including any email address you choose to provide, are stored in Google Forms under our account and protected by Google's platform security and our account credentials. Website signup addresses are stored by Netlify under our account and protected the same way. The website itself is served only over HTTPS.

11Changes to this policy

If we add any feature that collects data — analytics, crash reporting, accounts, or cloud save — we will update this policy and the app store privacy disclosures before that feature ships. The effective date above will change when we do. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
